Factory Modifications to Our Standard SunPorch Models

Please note all sunroom modifications are done at the factory and it is not possible to modify the SunPorch during assembly.

Your SunPorch sun room kit is manufactured in a state of the art modern efficient factory. Raw materials are ordered to standard lengths and sizes. Production equipment is set to fabricate standard sizes. When modifying your SunPorch sunroom addition, you are paying the added cost of scrap materials and additional labor.

First, try to utilize a standard sun room size.
Second, try to modify the existing mounting site using conventional materials.
Third, and most expensive, is to modify your SunPorch sunroom design as noted below. For modified length, width & height, you must always start with the next larger standard size.

Sun room addition length is reduced from the front wall bay on the left end.
Reduced bay less than 20" will have fixed windows.
The sunroom door cannot be located in any reduced bay.

Sunroom width is reduced from wall bays and roof panels nearest to your home.
The height at the top ridge is decreased 1/8" for each 1 inch of reduction.
Reduced bay less than 20" in width, will have fixed windows.
Sun room doors cannot be located in a reduced bay.

Height Reduced

Sunroom height must be reduced from the bottom.

Height can be reduced by 1-1/2" on site if needed
The top ridge and front wall heights are reduced accordingly.
The roof pitch is fixed and cannot change.
The sun room door must be relocated to an endwall.
The maximum height reduction for an endwall door is
4-1/2" if located in the G2 or G3 bays
8-3/4" if located in the G4 bay
13-1/4" if located in the G5 bay.

Height Increased

Sunroom height can also be increased with site built knee wall.
The factory height increase has a 6" minimum and 38" maximum
The height is increased using a fixed panel above the sliding windows.
The top ridge and front wall heights are increased accordingly.
Door locations are not affected.
The roof pitch of each sun room is fixed and cannot change.

In some cases, you may not need three walls on your SunPorch, depending on where you plan to build your sunporch. We offer credits for removing a complete endwall or partial endwall to fit your space.

Depending on where you plan to build your sunroom addition against your house, it may be necessary to omit an endwall. With your back against the attachment wall looking out of the SunPorch sunroom, you can omit the right, left, or both endwalls.

The SunPorch has been designed and priced as a full height sunroom/screenroom. Most existing knee-walls simply do not match our existing size. It is generally not practical to modify a standard SunPorch sunroom to fit your dimensions. If you desire this option and want to determine pricing, we recommend our standard model sun porches. You may have to modify the length, width, height, and door locations to fit your existing knee-wall. This option is generally not cost effective.

If you desire to build your own knee-wall, we can provide you with a standard model Sunroom. Omitting the bottom row of panels will reduce the sunroom height by 38".

Site Built Knee Walls

Sunroom door can fit in any location except front or end wall outside corners.
Specify door location when ordering.
Aluminum framing is shipped with order & cut on site to correct height for your sun room addition.
Transom panel is custom made and can only be ordered after you measure height above door.
After ordering, the panel will arrive in approx 5-7 days via UPS.
